The Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has assented to Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (Establishment) Act and the Petroleum Training Institute (Amendment) Act.
Both bills have come into effect as laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Diaspora Commission Act establishes the commission under the supervisory jurisdiction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This was contained in a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (Senate), Senator Ita Enang.
The Petroleum Training Institute (Amendment) Act is to bring the provision thereof in conformity with the constitution, allowing for due process in the administrative action affecting the principal officers and staff the institute.

BREAKING: Court remands Maina in prison

A Federal High Court, Abuja, has ordered the remand of the embattled former chairman of the Pension Reforms Task Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, in prison custody. Justice Okon Abang granted the remand order following a request by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission after he pleaded not guilty to the 12 counts. The judge consequently adjourned untill October 30 for trial and November 19 for suitability of his application for bail filed before arraignment.    Maina is facing charges of money laundering, operating fictitious bank accounts and fraud.

Cowboy narrowly escapes death as cow goes angry. It was a shocking view recently when a cow in Sokoto decided to show his master how angry he is. The cow picked up the cowboy with his horns and swerved him left right while lots of people watched to their satisfaction without trying to help. In the viral video, the cowboy was seen as he struggled to get off the hold of the angry cow, but to no avail. The ill-tempered massive cow continued thin in a rage while the master managed to hold his neck.
