Cloudy weather, rain showers expected on Wednesday – NiMet
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office on Tuesday in Abuja also predicted chances of isolated thunderstorms over the region in the afternoon and evening hours
The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted increased cloudiness over the Central States on Wednesday morning, with prospects of localized thunderstorms over Abuja, Lafia, Makurdi, Yola and Mambilla Plateau.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office on Tuesday in Abuja also predicted chances of isolated thunderstorms over the region in the afternoon and evening hours.
It added that the central states would have day and night temperatures of 26 to 32 and 18 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency predicted that Southern states would experience cloudy conditions prospects of localised rains over Lagos, Ijebu-Ode, Calabar, Port Harcourt, Yenagoa and Eket in the morning hours.
It also predicted afternoon and evening localised thunderstorms over Akure, Ibadan, Osogbo, Enugu, Awka, Obudu, Calabar, Eket, Lagos and Port Harcourt with day and night temperatures of 28 to 30 and 19 to 22 degrees Celsius, respectively.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience cloudy morning with prospects of localised thunderstorms over Maiduguri, Dutse, Nguru, Potiskum, Damaturu, Kano, Kebbi and Yelwa.
NiMet predicted: “Late in the day, isolated thunderstorms are expected over the region with day and night temperatures in the range of 30 to 35 and 21 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
“Cloudy with prospects of localised rains and thunderstorm activities are expected over most parts of the country in the next 24 hours.”
