Revealed: Why charging your iPhone every night could be DAMAGING your battery

Image
Revealed: Why charging your iPhone every night could be DAMAGING your battery . Despite containing chips to stop overcharging, one expert has his doubts about plugging your phone in every night. Do you charge your iPhone overnight so it's ready to go in the morning? Well, you could be doing long-term damage to its battery life. That's the message coming from Hatem Zeine, the founder, chief scientist and chief technical officer of Ossia, a wireless charging company. He told the New York Times that excessive charging every night will take its toll on your iPhone's battery. Zeine argues that because most phones are designed to accept current as fast as possible (to reduce charging time) it can have negative, long-term effects. As current passes rapidly from one side of the battery to the other it can corrode it. Modern smartphones are fitted with chips that stop them from taking on excess electrical current once they've been fully charged. But while this may work for

Enjoying regular sex 'can help prevent heart disease' - but there's bad news for women

Image
Sex has been linked to the reduction in mens' homocysteine levels, a harmful chemical found in the blood which can trigger life-threatening cardiac problems. Enjoying regular sex can help reduce the risk of developing heart disease - but the news isn't so great for women. Research found having sex several times a week can slash levels of homocysteine in men, whereas women benefit far less from regular romps. The harmful chemical is found in the blood and can trigger potentially life-threatening cardiac problems. It's thought men getting regular sex often have better circulation and healthier blood vessels. This is crucial for preventing a build-up of homocysteine. But scientists say women benefit much less because sexual arousal is less dependent on having a healthy blood flow, which is a key factor in keeping homocysteine under control. Every year, around 73,000 people in Britain die from coronary heart disease. It remains the country's biggest killer.

Believed to be 60ft in length, the megalodon was the biggest shark ever to roam our oceans. It fed on whales with terrifying, razor-sharp teeth which measured six inches. At three times the size of the Great White shark, no predator of the sea could match it. Megalodon was wiped out along with a third of all marine mammals (Photo: Spotty11222) It turns out the megalodon was not the only creature to disappear during a period known as the Pliocene Epoch. In fact, a third of the ocean's largest marine animals including sharks, whales, sea birds and sea turtles died out during this time. The scientists now believe they have identified a previously unknown "extinction event". The international team investigated fossils of marine megafauna from the Pliocene and the Pleistocene epochs (5.3 mil
